# Secret Shorts

Discover Secret Shorts, follow a series episode by episode, use subtitles, and understand episode unlocks, heat levels, and ratings.

Secret Shorts are short, episodic dramas you watch on Secrets. Browse the covers, pick a series, and follow its story one episode at a time. Open **Shorts** from the navigation or go to [the Shorts page](https://secrets.ai/shorts). On a phone, look for Shorts in the navigation menu.

**Looking for an interactive opening that continues in chat?** Follow [Scenarios & Reels](/get-started/scenarios-and-reels.md). A Short follows its filmed episode sequence; a scenario invites you to choose a reply and take the story into chat. Both can appear on discovery surfaces around the app.

## Find something to watch

The featured carousel highlights selected series. Choose **Watch now** to open one, use the arrows or dots to see another, or select the genre button to browse similar stories.

Below it, category circles let you explore **Romance, Thriller, Supernatural, Sci-fi, Adventure, and Comedy**. Depending on what is available and your viewing history, the page also includes these rows:

Select **See all** on a row to open a larger selection. In the browse view, search by **title or trope**, such as a story name or “fake dating,” and choose **Popular**, **Newest**, or **New episodes** sorting. Clear the search or change categories if the list is narrower than expected.

New series and episodes can change the rows and available covers. A Coming soon card is a preview, not an episode you can unlock or watch yet.

## Open a series and choose an episode

1. Select a series cover or **Watch now**.
2. Read its description and look through the **Episodes** list.
3. Select an available episode. If you have already started the series, the player can return you to your progress.
4. If the episode asks you to sign in or unlock it, follow that prompt before playback.
5. At the end, use **Play Episode…** to continue when another episode is available. The player may also show a countdown to the next episode.

The episode list shows titles, availability, and heat indicators. It also lets you return to an earlier episode you can access. A series can gain more episodes after you finish its current selection.

## Free episodes, sign-in, and unlocks

A series starts with a free opening episode. Later episodes can require an account or a Moments unlock. Read the message on the selected episode; access and prices can vary.

| **Unlock** with a Moments amount    | Review the price and balance, then choose whether to unlock that episode. |
| An earlier episode must be unlocked | Unlock the earlier locked episodes in order before continuing.            |
| **Unlock free**                     | Use an available free episode unlock credit.                              |
| **Coming soon**                     | Return when the episode or series is released.                            |

Spending Moments to unlock episodes requires **Premium or Ultimate**. Free and account-required episodes are available without a paid subscription. An eligible **free unlock credit** can be used on any plan; if one is available, the player shows **Unlock free**. If a credit is no longer available, review the newly displayed price before continuing.

An unlock applies to **that episode**, not the whole series or future episodes. You can replay an episode you have unlocked on the same account without paying for it again. A subscription does not automatically unlock every paid episode.

## Playback and subtitles

Use the player controls to pause or resume, seek within the episode, change the sound, or enter full screen. A quality menu may offer **Auto** and available quality options, depending on the playback method and browser.

Open **Subtitles** to choose an available language or **Off**. The default follows your site language when a matching track exists, with English as the fallback when available. Your choice is remembered on the current device. Language options depend on the episode; a missing language does not mean you have to change your account or subscription.

If there is no sound, unmute the player and check your device volume. If subtitles do not appear, check that they are enabled and that the selected episode has a track in that language.

## Heat levels and star ratings

**Flames measure content intensity.** Episodes can show a heat level from **0 to 5**. More flames indicate more explicit content. Heat is specific to an episode, so later episodes in the same series can have a different level. An episode without a heat label has no displayed rating; do not treat that as a guarantee of mild content.

**Stars are your opinion of the episode.** When signed in, you can leave a **1–5 star rating** and change it later. Rating is optional and does not spend Moments. A star rating and a heat level describe different things.

## Resume, finish, and meet the cast

Use **Continue watching** to return to an unfinished series. After the latest available episode, the player lets you know you are caught up. Check **New episodes** later for more releases.

The **Cast** section links to featured companions where available. Open a cast member to learn about them or start a chat using your plan's normal chat access. Chatting with the cast does not change the filmed episode or unlock the next one.

## Troubleshooting

**I paid before, but the episode looks locked.** Make sure you are signed into the same account and have selected the same episode. Unlocks are per episode. If the same purchased episode remains locked after reopening it, contact support with the series and episode title.

**I cannot skip ahead to a locked episode.** Unlock the earlier locked episodes in that series first.

**I have Moments but cannot unlock.** Check whether the player is asking you to upgrade: paid episode unlocks require Premium or Ultimate. A free unlock credit is a separate option when one is available.

**I cannot find a series I saw earlier.** Clear search and category filters, check Continue watching, and remember that featured rows change. Coming soon titles cannot be played yet.
